Newcastle star now at risk of second suspension ahead of crucial double-header

Bruno Guimaraes is suspended for this weekend’s trip to Bournemouth – but the Brazilian will also miss our final Champions League group match against AC Milan if he’s booked in Paris later this month.

UEFA rules state that any player who picks up three yellow cards will be handed a one-game ban, with this three-card rule expiring upon the completing of the quarter-finals.

Bruno was booked in our 4-1 win over PSG and our 1-0 home defeat to Dortmund, meaning he could’ve been banned for our trip to Paris had he been carded on Tuesday night.

Thankfully, he didn’t go into the referees book in Dortmund, but he will miss out final group game – a home clash with AC Milan on Wednesday 13th December – if he receives a yellow card at PSG on Tuesday 28th November.

Elsewhere, Anthony Gordon, Fabian Schar and Lewis Hall are all on one yellow card, leaving them two bookings away from a one-match ban in Europe.
