Newcastle handed triple injury boost – Finally some good news for Eddie Howe?

A positive update on the injury front has arrived from Craig Hope at The Mail, revealing a triple boost ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea.

He claims that both Alexander Isak and Miguel Almiron ‘will be fit’ for this weekend’s game after overcoming injuries over the international break. Isak has missed out last five with a groin problem, while Almiron limped off with a hamstring injury in our 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

Elsewhere, Sven Botman has ‘progressed well’ in his recovery from a knee injury. Last week, The Telegraph revealed that he could be out until February IF he required surgery on the ongoing issue. However, Hope reveals that he’s on course to avoid going under the knife if he continues to avoid any swelling.

The only bad news from his injury update is on Sean Longstaff. His ankle problem is ‘settling quickly’, but he ‘remains a doubt’ for Saturday’s game at St James’ Park.

We have so many issues to contend with at the moment – Wilson is out for six weeks, Anderson remains sidelined, Barnes is still out, Tonali suspended, Hall ineligible against his parent club and Burn, Targett and Murphy all missing until the New Year – but it’s great to hear some much-needed good news on Isak, Almiron and Botman.
