When Newcastle United battered PSG in that memorable 4-1 win at St James’ Park in October, midfield sensation Warren Zaire-Emery was the one player to come away with credit for the Ligue 1 giants.
His superb pass set up Lucas Hernandez’s second-half goal and he sits top of the assist chart in the group stages, setting up three in PSG’s opening four games.
The 17-year-old has become a key player for Luis Enrique and has also scored in two of their last three league games, but he’s now been ruled out of our crucial Champions League clash at the Parc des Princes next Tuesday.
He made his debut for the French national team over the weekend and scored in their 14-0 win over Gibraltar. However, he suffered a sprained ankle and has now been ruled out for “several weeks”.
Speaking to French TV show Telefoot, France boss Didier Deschamps said: “It’s a significant injury that will certainly take several weeks [to heal]. You never want to lose players in matches like this. It could have been more serious.”
