Newcastle United had club officials in the stands to watch Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on Sunday night, according to 90min.
They report that scouts from Newcastle, Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City were all present to watch the Napoli winger in Georgia’s Euro qualifier against Spain on Sunday night. The 22-year-old scored in a 3-1 defeat and has bagged three goals and five assists so far this season.
It’s believed Kvaratskhelia is currently in talks over extending his contract with the Serie A giants, but this isn’t the first time he’s been linked with a big-money move to the Premier League.
The Athletic and The Telegraph have previously confirmed our interest in the £75m-rated Georgian, while The Times’ Martin Hardy released a big exclusive this time last year claiming he was a ‘major transfer target’ for the club heading into 2023.
He’s one of the most exciting talents in Europe and would be an outstanding addition. However, there’d be huge competition for his signature, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich also keen.
