Bruno Guimaraes is walking the suspension tightrope once again ahead of tonight’s crucial Champions League clash with PSG tonight.
After two bookings in our opening four group games so far, the Brazilian will miss our final match of Group F at home to AC Milan if he picks up a yellow card at the Parc de Princes.
Bruno was cautioned in our 4-1 win over PSG last month and also received a booking in our 1-0 defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund, leaving him at risk of a one-match ban. As UEFA rules state, players booked three times before the second leg of the quarter-finals serve a suspension.
The Brazilian was suspended in our last Premier League away game – a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth – after picking up five yellows in the league. Our 13th December meeting with Milan could decide our European fate next month (we’re only guaranteed to finish rock bottom if we lose and Milan win tonight), so let’s hope Bruno comes through without a booking!

Unfortunately we have one, two, three or four competitive players who are ill disciplined with the tackles pushes and the verbals and that’s the price Newcastle will have to pay.
There is no doubt PSG will target them tonight as will Premiership teams in the future.
Back chatting is stupidity now and that’s down to the coaches and players to get a grip of.
It very seldom happens in rugby!
