VAR, Howe exposes Arteta, wounded Mags & Man Utd on Saturday – New podcast!

The NUFC Blogcast returns for the second time this week, as me and Ed look look back at Tuesday’s robbery in PSG and preview Saturday’s meeting with Man Utd at St James’ Park (Listen here or press play below)

We kick-off by reflecting on that absurd decision to award PSG a 98th-minute penalty a few nights ago, along with UEFA’s telling decision to drop the official who was on VAR duty that night.

On a positive note, we pick out the standout players from Tuesday, discuss the magnificent Miley, Livramento’s stunning display and Pope proving a point to those who’ve questioned him over the past few weeks.

I then run through what proved to be a disastrous night for Man Utd on Wednesday, issue an update on Sven Botman’s knee injury and why I’m expecting from Eddie Howe’s wounded animals under the lights on Saturday!

As ever, our poll of the week and FYI Man quiz question also feature, along with our expected lineups and score prediction.

  1. Aye, Pope really proved himself against PSG.
Just ignore the string of error laden performances that we’ve seen so far this season and let’s put all our faith in him based on a single performance in a single game.
It’s a bit like declaring Shola a world class striker because he finds the net in a couple of games against the Mackems.
I’d back Dubravka to be more consistent, any day.
