After several weeks out with a hamstring injury, Yankuba Minteh is fit again and impressing with Feyenoord; so much so that Newcastle United are considering recalling him in January.
He marked his return with an assist in their 4-2 win at Excelsior after coming on for the final 31 minutes, then started in their Champions League meeting with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, playing 64 minutes down the right.
The Dutch giants lost 3-1, but Minteh caught the eye with his electric pace, tight dribbling and direct running. Not only has an impressive highlight reel emerged from the match (watch below), some outstanding stats show how he ranks when it comes to dribbles and tackles per 90 in the Champions League group stages so far.
Only Man City’s Jeremy Doku, PSV’s Noah Lang and Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli are averaging more successful dribbles than Minteh’s 6.1 per 90. What’s perhaps even more incredible is he ranks top for tackles, completing 3.3 per 90 across one meeting with Celtic and two against Atletico Madrid.
Watch him in action against Simeone’s side below, followed by an exciting compilation of his best bits this season:

We can consider recalling him all we want he doesn’t have a recall clause in his loan agreement.
