Man United manager Erik ten Hag made some pretty ridiculous comments before his Red Devils side were played off the pitch from start to finish at St James’ Park last night.
He said: “We have a disadvantage to Newcastle… we played Sunday, they played Saturday. They played Tuesday, we played Wednesday… so we have to rotate”
Pre-match excuses from the Dutchman, but they don’t really hold any weight, do they? Man Utd may have played a day later last weekend and in midweek – where they drew 3-3 at Galatasaray on Wednesday – but we’ve been forced to play the same 11 three games running due to the 11-12 absentees in our squad. We can’t even rotate!
We didn’t even have the options to make a substitute at PSG, yet ten Hag suggests Man Utd had it tough. The defeat wasn’t down to the fact that Eddie Howe’s team had 24 hours extra to recover, Newcastle could’ve played on Thursday and probably still would have won.
The Manchester United players were not playing for the manager or the fans, while Newcastle’s squad thrived off of the energy at St James’ Park and would’ve run through a brick wall for Howe.
The performance perfectly exemplified the situation the two clubs find themselves in – despite being close in the league, the feeling is so much more positive in the North East.
Ever so glad we Eddie Howe.

He needs support!! The league is fierce. ManOfficials did a great job responding to misinformation in journalism. The media believes it understands the game, but it (I mean geometry dash) doesn’t.

Newcastle could have played on snake io and most likely would have won, so the loss wasn’t due to Eddie Howe’s team having an extra day to heal.
