Alan Pardew names 'perfect' signing for Newcastle after 4-1 defeat at Spurs

Alan Pardew has urged Newcastle United to sign David De Gea following a long-term injury to Nick Pope.

The former Toon boss believes the Spaniard is a 'perfect fit' and the 'best that's out there' if we plan to bring in another goalkeeper.

De Gea left Man Utd over the summer and is yet to find a club, leaving him a free agent and available to sign outside of the transfer window providing we make space in our 25-man squad.

After Pope's injury, it was reported that Eddie Howe would give Dubravka every chance to prove his worth over the festive period, but he's been anything but convincing since stepping in.

If he struggles against Milan, you get the feeling another goalkeeper will arrive in the coming weeks, with De Gea, Hugo Lloris, Aaron Ramsdale and Keylor Navas all linked since news of Pope's 4-5 month injury.
