According to Footy Headlines – a site notorious for early kit leaks – Newcastle’s Adidas designs for the 2024-25 season will feature the return of a few classic designs.
The home shirt is expected to look similar to the kit used between 2001-03, meaning wider black and white stripes, along with a v-neck and grey detailing.
The away kit is taking us back to the entertainers era, with Adidas looking to use maroon and navy stripes that have become so iconic amongst the supporters (see both below).
As for the third kit, it’s thought this will be inspired by the Adidas EQT style. This is mainly white with black and green, but the most striking feature could see them use the Newcastle badge from the 1980s.
Finally, Adidas are also looking to produce a remake kit based on the 1995-97 home shirt, featuring long sleeves.
Haway man, that home kit is hideous. The way the logos are just blocked into the stripes is so boring, and the size of them is absurd. The away kit looks good, but that home kit is a bog-standard Pro Evo 6 template-looking garment. I say veto. Get some style into it for heaven’s sake, where’s the Geordie SWING, man?! It doesn’t have Geordie character, it’s got the refinement of a dull corporate vacuum of a personality that’s more accustomed to Londoners or them big-city folk obeying the rules and on the straight an narrow. Being a Geordie is more eccentric than this. Try harder adidas! Sometimes the first thing that pops into your head isn’t the best thing possible.
