The perfect day for Newcastle United, who dominated Sunderland from start to finish in a 3-0 win at the Stadium of Light.
Eddie Howe believes we “handled the occasion so well”, didn’t allow their fans to influence the game, hailed our bravery on the ball and hopes this result could be huge in boosting our confidence levels after a period of bad results.
The boss admits Joelinton has a “thigh problem”, but this was the only negative on an otherwise brilliant afternoon for the club, with Alexander Isak scoring twice, Bruno running the show, Miggy impressing on his return and the defence keeping a well-deserve clean sheet in a men vs boys display against the Mackems.
Watch Howe’s post-match interview below, followed by clips of all three goals, Bruno’s roar towards the away end and the post-match scenes as the players celebrated a convincing derby win:
"I still think we're a little short from our best"
