“It’s a real disaster!” – Loan club exposed as Mag reveals truth behind Newcastle return

The real reason Isaac Hayden’s loan move at Standard Liege has been cut short has emerged in a recent interview with the 28-year-old.

While Liege CEO Pierre Locht recently claimed that it was an issue to do with Hayden’s quality, saying – “It’s likely that he won’t come back [to Belgium]. We wanted a player who brought an immediate superior quality to the team” – the former Arsenal man has revealed that his return was out of his hands and a “real disaster” on Liege’s part.

He states that wages were no paid on time or at all, as per his contractual agreements with the Belgian side, revealing the mismanagement of funds in an interview with Sacha Tavolieri.

“The main reason why I left Standard Liege is that the club does not pay salaries on time… and does not pay them. I will now initiate legal proceedings against the club to obtain the wages that Standard Liege owes me.

“For example, I received my November salary… on December 28th. They also didn’t pay the players’ bonuses and now the December salaries haven’t been paid and we’re almost at the end of January…It’s a real disaster!”

His return may hand a slight reprieve to Eddie Howe’s midfield in light of Joelinton’s potential season-ending injury, with Joe White also arriving back on Tyneside from a loan spell at Crewe. However, it remains to be seen if either have a role to play over the second half of the season.

Hayden proved his reliability during the Rafa Benitez era – and Eddie Howe has also worked wonders in giving players a new lease of life, dusting off the proverbial cobwebs of managers past, so there may yet be a future in black-and-white for the Englishman.

  1. Who is looking after all these loan deals??
It seems we have one disaster after another with loan deals for various reasons, it’s obvious we aren’t doing due diligence on these deals for the good of our players welfare and game time- should be looked into and sorted

Not sure who has the final say, but as far as I know Shola is the loan manager or loan coordinator….
