Newcastle United will face a trip to Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The game will take place over the weekend of Saturday, 16 March, meaning our Premier League fixture away to Crystal Palace will now be rearranged.
Eddie Howe’s Mags took on Blackburn Rovers in the Fifth Round last night and made hard work of it. After a 1-1 draw in the 90 minutes and no goals in extra time, two shootout saves from Martin Dubravka sent us into the last eight in front of 7,000 traveling Geordies.
It’s our first FA Cup quarter-final for four years and leaves us just one win away from Wembley, with the semi-finals and final both taking place at London’s 90,000-seater stadium.
Here’s the quarter-final draw in full:
- Wolves or Brighton vs Coventry
- Nottingham Forest or Man Utd vs Liverpool or Southampton
- Chelsea or Leeds vs Leicester
- Man City vs Newcastle

Looks like any success will come the hard way, not impossible but can’t see it happening even with rose tinted sunglasses.
Will need to extract the digit in the league for remainder of the season.
