According to Mark Douglas at the i, Newcastle United could loan out both Yankuba Minteh and Lewis Hall this summer, while our global search for future stars has also ramped up.
Minteh will be handed a chance to impress over pre-season following his successful spell at Feyenoord, but it’s believed the ‘most likely’ option is a second successive loan, with Feyenoord keen to have him back and a host of Championship clubs keen.
It’s thought 19-year-old Hall is considered a ‘long-term project’ as his initial loan move looks set to become a £28m permanent switch this summer. After just 108 minutes of Premier League football this season, a summer loan move is on the cards if he can’t force his way into Howe’s immediate plans over pre-season.
As for incomings, Douglas reveals that Newcastle have a ‘multi-million pound plan’ to invest in top emerging talent, believing more moves like Minteh – who cost £6m from Odense last summer – could help save the club huge money in the long term.
Newcastle scouts have recently travelled to Brazil and Germany to watch a host of young stars, with the club not only beefing up their global scouting operating but increasing the budget available to bring in the next big thing.
