Newcastle identify £60m target as Toon look to sign two Premier League players – Report

Newcastle United are chasing summer deals for Wolves winger Pedro Neto and Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly as Eddie Howe looks to add to two key areas of his squad.

Both players have shone for their respective clubs this season, with Neto contributing to 11 goals and Kelly impressing at left-back under Andoni Iraola.

According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, 23-year-old Neto would cost the Magpies £60m this summer and has been discussed in recent meetings by Toon scouts. Liverpool are also reportedly interested in the Portuguese international.

Kelly is available on a free transfer in the summer and talks are underway to get the 25-year-old to put pen to paper. Talks began last month and have continued since.

Newcastle boss Howe is very familiar of the former England under-21s star. Howe signed Kelly from Bristol City during his time as Bournemouth Manager.

Kelly is considered an ideal upgrade on Burn and a smart deal within our current FFP constraints, while Neto would be a statement signing that would excite fans on Tyneside.

The electric winger could take Miguel Almrion’s place in the side, with the Paraguayan receiving interest from Saudi Arabia in January before opting to stay.
