Howe’s odd move, more injury woes, European hope and Man City preview – New podcast!

The NUFC Blogcast is back for another week, as I look back at Monday’s dismal defeat at Chelsea and preview our FA Cup quarter-final at Man City this Saturday (Listen here or press play the play button below).

I reflect on a night that almost summed up our season at Stamford Bridge, as we lost momentum and more key players just when we hoped our season was sparking back into life ahead of the run in.

Eddie Howe’s surprising tactics are discussed, as I question why he moved away from an approach that worked so effectively in our 3-0 win over Wolves. I also look at Sean Longstaff awful display, the defensive errors, our drop-off in intensity and our European hopes as the fixtures look set to swing in our favour over the final 10 games.

After our poll of the week and Twitter questions, I then preview Saturday night’s trip to Man City, looking at our alarming head-to-head record, the latest injury news on Gordon, Burn and Barnes and the predicted XI I’m backing Howe to go with at the Etihad.
