Newcastle United will play Tottenham Hotspur at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia on Wednesday, May 22.
It was revealed that the Magpies will travel to Oceania for the first time since 2014 where they played two friendly games in New Zealand.
It was revealed by Martin Hardy of The Times that Newcastle will make the trip to Australia; the homeland of Spurs manager Ange Postecoglu.
This comes as a surprise given it will be played just a few days after our final game of the 2023/24 season; a trip to Brentford on Sunday 19th May.
The friendly was announced following the Magpies exit from the FA Cup following the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City last night and will take place just a few days before the cup final.
The incentive of the friendly is the revenue it will generate ahead of a huge summer for the club. Luke Edwards is also reporting that the game may be linked to a new sponsorship for the club.
“….where Spurs’ manager Ange Postecoglu resides from.”?
Surely that should be where he resides, or where he comes from?
Where he resides from is just garbage.
