Newcastle considering summer move for Quilindschy Hartman – Report

Newcastle United are showing interest in Feyenoord defender Quilindschy Hartman ahead of the summer transfer window.

In his latest exclusive for FootballTransfers, Steve Kay reports that Eddie Howe is keen to bring another left-back to the club, with Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko also being considered.

Hartman is valued in the region of £24m and has impressed in the Eredivisie with his pace, tough-tackling and energy down the left. The 22-year-old stands 6 ft tall and has seven assists in 37 appearances this season, along with four caps for the Dutch national team.

FootballTransfers report that we’ve struck up a good relationship with Feyenoord following a loan agreement that sent Yankuba Minteh to Rotterdam for the season and could aid any pursuit of Hartman should we up our interest.

Another potential one to watch, although some will question our loan-to-buy move for Lewis Hall – which will cost us £28m this summer – if we’re already looking to bring in another left-back.

  1. Lewis Hall was always one for the future. We needed him to be with us this season for him to qualify as homegrown at club by 2026. It’s for that reason he’ll be part of the squad for the next two seasons as well; we need homegrown players for European competition. A first choice left back is vital for next season.
