Finally some good news for Eddie Howe as Newcastle are handed double boost

Finally some good news to share on the injury front, as The Mail’s Craig Hope has shared a positive update on Nick Pope and Lewis Miley.

Despite fears Pope’s season could be over, he reveals that the goalkeeper is on track to play some part in our final nine games, allowing him to make a late push for Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the Euros.

There’s also promising news on Lewis Miley. He’s had another scan this week and it’s shown bone bruising, not any serious injury to his back. As a result, it’s hoped he can still play a part in what remains of the season, although he won’t be rushed back.

As for tonight, we’ll have to hope Kieran Trippier is fit enough to return at right-back. If not, it’s likely we see Emil Krafth come into the team, with Lewis Hall pushing for a start down the left after impressing in his cameo on Saturday.

On the flip side, Miguel Almiron looks set to miss out and there’s fears Tino Livramento could be sidelined for some time after his ankle injury over the weekend.
