Newcastle offer ‘€25m + €5m in bonuses’ for Real Sociedad star – Big claims from Spain

According to reports emerging from the Spanish media last night, Newcastle United have made an opening offer for Real Sociedad defender Robin Le Normand.

This comes from Spanish journalist Ruben Uria, who claims that we’ve launched an initial proposal worth an initial €25m plus €5m in bonuses.

The 27-year-old is a right-sided centre-back but has played on both sides over his career. He was born in France but has represented Spain nine times and played in seven of Real Sociedad’s eight Champions League outings this season after they progressed from the group stages before losing to PSG in the last 16.

If Uria’s bold claims are true, we aren’t the only side keen to sign Le Normand. He reports that La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid have offered €20m + Javi Galan for the defender, with Napoli proposing €27m + €5m in bonuses.

Alexander Isak will be no stranger to the 6ft 2′ Frenchman, as the pair played together at Real Sociedad during the Swede’s time in Spain.
