This morning, The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards revealed that Joelinton looks set to sign a new deal at Newcastle United following a breakthrough in talks.
In the second last line of his in-depth exclusive, he revealed how a decision on big Joe’s future could play a key role in keeping Bruno Guimaraes at St James’ Park for ‘at least one more season.’
The pair are close friends and Brazilian compatriots. Joelinton was Bruno’s best man at his wedding last summer and their families have also struck up a real friendship.
They have a brilliant relationship both on and off the pitch and Edwards reports that an imminent new four-year deal for Joelinton has increased our hopes of keeping Bruno at the club for another year.
He also believes it sends a strong message to several of Newcastle’s star players, showing a determination to keep our best players and pay well, with Joe expected to become one of our top earner.
