Laughable Alexander Isak claims – TalkSPORT pundit urges Spurs to make players + cash offer

The latest ludicrously ridiculous claims emanating from London, the land that no one can turn down, is that Tottenham Hotspur want Alexander Isak.

Following links with the North London side, talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has suggested Spurs should offer Richarlison, rarely-used right-back Djed Spence and 20-year-old forward Dane Scarlett. Oh and he’s suggested they throw in an extra £30m to sweeten the deal!

O’Hara feels the Magpies might have to sell the 24-year-old and is adamant his former club are keen to sign the Swedish star.

Speaking on talkSPORT, the former Tottenham midfielder said: “Newcastle might have to sell Isak and I know Spurs would love him. It is a step forward for Isak. I don’t think they would spend £100m but Spurs have been linked, and I’d love him. I’d do a swap deal.”

“We give you £30m and Richarlison. I’d even throw in Djed Spence. Throw in Dane Scarlett as well, he’s young, up and coming.”

Quite laughable really especially coming after Isak went public this week saying he has no intention of leaving Newcastle when he was linked to Arsenal. In my opinion, The Gunners would be a far more attractive proposition than moving to Spurs!

Spence is an interesting one as we were supposedly interested in him before he left Middlesbrough. He’s hardly pulled up any trees at Tottenham and since arriving has only played four games. He’s currently on loan in Serie A with Genoa; where he’s not getting many starts after unsuccessful spells with Leeds and Rennes.

Scarlett is a supposed up and coming forward well thought of at Tottenham, but recent loan spells at Portsmouth and Ipswich led to six goals in 52 games. Again, hardly the sort of player that would tempt the Toon to sell arguably the best young centre forward in the Premier League!

Tottenham haven’t signed a Harry Kane replacement yet. Signing a world-class striker who can help them replace the England international in the long run is one of their priorities heading into the summer.

They believe that Isak could be an ideal fit for them and they have been linked with the Swedish international. Although Eddie Howe recently made it clear that they have no intentions of negotiating his exit, O’Hara wants Spurs to test their resolve.

Let them. Personally I just think it’s another ridiculously far-fetched opinion from someone that has no concept of life outside his ‘own’ club.

  3. Spurs would be a sideways/ backward step for Issak, he will stay at Newcastle knowing that the new rules will enable them to strengthen the squad and challenge for trophies again.
