Launch of Newcastle’s 2024/25 Adidas kit leaked during Mike Ashley court case

Since it was announced that Adidas would once again be supplying our kits, fans of the club have been clamouring for a release date.

Now, it seems that there has been a leak which will answer the question – and it is because of Mike Ashley.

The Athletic’s Jacob Whitehead reveals that court proceedings between Ashley and the club have confirmed the date that next season’s kit will be released, with the former Toon owner in a dispute over rights to stock Toon kits in Sports Direct ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Marking Adidas’ first kit for Newcastle in 14 years, the release of the kit is set to be June 7th 2024, two days before the Blaydon Races.

According to leaks late last year the selection of kits are set to be crowd pleasers among Geordies. The home shirt is expected to look similar to the kit used between 2001-03, meaning wider black and white stripes, along with a v-neck and grey detailing.

The away kit is taking us back to the entertainers era, with Adidas looking to use maroon and navy stripes that have become so iconic amongst the supporters.

As for the third kit, it’s thought this will be inspired by the Adidas EQT style. This is mainly white with black and green, but the most striking feature could see them use the Newcastle badge from the 1980s.

Finally, Adidas are also looking to produce a remake kit based on the 1995-97 home shirt, featuring long sleeves.
