Newcastle set to offer new deal to Mag with 12 months left on his contract – Report

According to Football Insider, Newcastle are ready to offer Kieran Trippier a new deal and have lined up talks with the defender approaching the final 12 months of his contract.

Bayern Munich attempted to sign the right-back in January and there were rumours that Newcastle were considering selling him for the right price, but a move never materialised.

The German giants are unlikely to reignite their interest after signing Sacha Boey, but there’s been some talk that Saudi Pro League sides could offer the 33-year-old a move to the Middle East.

However, Football Insider believe that Newcastle want to keep the experienced England international for at least another year, suggesting a contract extension will be offered to extend his stay until 2026.

With Newcastle hoping to improve in a number of positions this summer, it would make sense to keep leaders like Trippier, though he is one of the few sellable assets who they could realistically replace, with Tino Livramento waiting in the wings for his starting spot.

Elsewhere, the likes of Loris Karius, Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie and Mark Gillespie are all out of contract this summer, as things stand, while Callum Wilson, Sean Longstaff, Dan Burn, Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Emil Krafth and Martin Dubravka are contracted until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
