Gary Neville meets Anthony Gordon – A must watch for Newcastle United fans

The Overlap have released a brilliant in-depth interview with Anthony Gordon, where Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville discusses a range of topics with the Newcastle United winger.

After revealing his surprise at Gordon’s height and running through some quickfire questions on a walk at Whitley Bay, Neville asks about his ambitions, post-match routines, England hopes, £45m move to Newcastle, preferred position and best friends in football.

Gordon speaks so impressively and discusses his inner belief, revealing his trophy ambitions at Newcastle and his decision to leave Everton, saying: “I’ve got one goal and purpose… to be at the very top of football. Nothing will get in the way of that. My ambition is to be at the top – and I couldn’t do that where I was (Everton).”

Watching the interview below, it’s clear that he’s intelligent, hugely driven, a deep thinker and determined to improve every part of his game.

A brilliant interview and more proof that we’ve not only signed a superb footballer but a great character who will only get better.

  1. I watched this this morning – not often GNev is left speechless mind 😂.

It sounds like he’s one focus lad & it sounds like he’s getting managed very well from Howe at the moment – in terms of letting him have control of his own fitness and such like.

The more I see & hear from Gordon the more impressed I am of him as a person as much as a player – great lad.

Interesting to hear his best mates are Tommy Doyle – a player I think would be good for NUFC and Elliott Anderson – who I think is only starting his footballing journey & could go on to be a huge player for us.
