Newcastle set for triple boost ahead of final four games and airport photo explained

Some positive news on the injury front has emerged ahead of Newcastle’s remaining four games of the 2023/24 season.

After confirming that Kieran Trippier has flown to Dubai to work with physios and a fitness coach, Craig Hope’s latest piece for The Mail reveals that our vice captain will be back in training next week and in the squad to face Brighton next Saturday.

The 33-year-old has missed the last two months with a calf problem, but he’s expected back for our final three games of the season.

In another boost for Eddie Howe, Miguel Almiron is on course to be back in the squad for this weekend’s trip to Burnley after missing our last five league matches with a knee problem.

Joelinton has been stepping up his return from surgery and completing his own fitness programme, but the Brazilian could be back in first team training soon and is hoping to feature in our final few games of the season, despite claims his campaign was over earlier this year.

Nick Pope’s comeback plan is less clear, with the club reluctant to rush him back after shoulder surgery. However, Eddie Howe did reveal last week that he was back in ‘early training sessions’ and taking part in shooting drills.
