Newcastle identify two Olise alternatives and three defensive targets – Report

After revealing that Newcastle have reignited their interest in Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, The Mail have named two other wingers on the club’s radar.

Craig Hope has confirmed that Wolves’ Pedro Neto has been watched along with Athletic Bilbao sensation Nico Williams, insisting that Newcastle are in the market for a new right winger this summer.

The Mail also report that Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale is another target as we plan to bring in another goalkeeper, with Tosin Adarabioyo and Lloyd Kelly also wanted in our search for defensive cover at centre-back.

Olise has a £60m release clause in his current Palace deal and has received interest from a host of top-flight clubs, with Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool all thought to be big admirers.

He could be tough to land this summer and it seems we’ve got a few alternatives lined up in Neto and Williams, although the club are thought to have some concerns around the former’s injury record having missed 16 league games with a hamstring injury this season.

Williams, 21, has seven goals and 16 assists in all competitions this season and was on the club’s radar the month we brought Anthony Gordon to St James’ Park. It seems we’ve continued to track the Spanish international since then, where he’s continued to flourish in La Liga.

  1. I want another Anthony Gordon if we’re spending big on a winger.

I’d love Bowen. He’s really versatile and never stops running. He defends from the front in the same way Gordon & Isak does – and those 3 as our forwards would be goals for fun.

With Barnes, Wilson & Murphy behind them – that’s decent cover imo.

Bowen may cost a little more than £60m now though – still only 27 though.

  2. Michael Olisi is worth a £100.00 he doesn’t have an iff game, the pace he has , ball skills, goal scoring, assist. Bowen no pace . Can you imagine Isak and Olisi and Gordon.
