Predicted Newcastle team to face Brentford - 5 changes and £45m man missing?
The final day of the season has arrived, where Eddie Howe's Mags take on Thomas Frank's Brentford in a game that could decide our European fate. Here's the side I think we'll go for and why:
Predicted XI: Pope - Trippier, Schar, Burn, Hall - Longstaff, Bruno, Joelinton - Almiron, Isak, Barnes.
Starting in goal, I think we'll see Nick Pope return for this one. He's the better goalkeeper and was missed (again) in our midweek defeat to Man Utd.
Fabian Schar is fit again and should replace Emil Krafth at centre-back. I think we'll see Joelinton back in midfield after his lively cameo at Old Trafford, meaning Elliot Anderson could drop out.
In attack, there's rumours that Anthony Gordon (ankle) could be missing. If true, I'd expect Harvey Barnes to start down the left. I wouldn't be surprised to see Miguel Almiron return on the right and we'll also have Callum Wilson back in the squad, so he's one to watch if fit to play and could return in the same formation that helped us beat Burnley.
OUT: Dubravka, Krafth, Anderson, Gordon and Murphy? IN: Pope, Schar, Joelinton, Barnes and Almiron?
