Five Newcastle Stars Nominated for Premier League Fan XI
After securing seventh place in the Premier League with a 4-2 win over Brentford on Sunday, five Newcastle United stars have been named in the shortlist for the inaugural Premier League Fan XI.
The nominees will be selected ahead of a vote for the inaugural XI, which will be chosen by supporters.
Winger Anthony Gordon has scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in a first full season with the Magpies, while Alexander Isak is on the shortlist after netting 25 goals in all competitions this season. Fabian Schar also makes the list, as does Kieran Trippier.
Isak, who is up for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award and the Young Player’s, has become the first Magpies player to score more than 20 goals in a single Premier League season since the legendary Alan Shearer in 2003/04.
The nominees are:
- Anthony Gordon - our star winger with 12 goals and 10 assists in all competitions.
- Alexander Isak - our talisman up top with 25 goals in all competitions.
- Bruno Guimarães - recognized for his often-dominant role in United's midfield, having only missed one league game so far this season.
- Fabian Schar - nominated after playing a key role in helping Howe's side to a second successive European campaign.
- Kieran Trippier was nominated after starring in the club's impressive run to the top of the table.
Voting for the Magpies' quintet will open at 9 am on Tuesday, 21st May, and closes at 12pm on Monday, 27th May. Fans can celebrate the season and the players' performances by creating footage with easy video editing tools, capturing all the memorable moments of the campaign.
