Newcastle line up double swoop for West Ham winger and Everton striker - The Telegraph
According to The Telegraph's Luke Edwards, Newcastle are eyeing up summer moves for West Ham star Jarrod Bowen and Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
He reports that both have 'featuring prominently' in recent recruitment meetings, with the club prioritising the signing of a new right-winger and eyeing another striker able to replace Callum Wilson; who is expected to leave this summer.
Edwards reveals that Newcastle have a long-standing interest in Bowen, who is rated highly by Newcastle's hierarchy and a player we've attempted to sign in previous windows, only for West Ham to issue a 'not for sale' response on each occasion.
The 27-year-old scored 20 times for the Hammers over 2023/24, also delivering 10 assists. It's believed he and Crystal Palace's Michael Olise are being discussed, although we are wary of Man Utd's long-term interest in the Eagles star.
Calvert-Lewin is a strange one. The Telegraph report that we've been tracking the Toffees striker for two years, with the club's recruitment team believing he would shine in a more attacking side.
Injuries are a concern, but the 6ft 2' forward did play 38 games for Everton last season, scoring eight times in all competitions for Sean Dyche's side. He's also out of contract next summer, which could help drive down his price.
