According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Newcastle have held talks with the agent of Villareal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, but Chelsea are also keen on the Dane and fellow Toon target Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Valencia’s Mamardashvili has been heavily linked in recent weeks, while Jorgensen is the latest name to emerge in our search for a young goalkeeper to compete with Nick Pope now Martin Dubravka is expected to follow Loris Karius out of the exit door this summer.
However, it’s becoming a theme to see Chelsea target players on our radar, with the Blues attempting to hijack our move for Tosin Adarabioyo this week and also being ‘admirers’ of Burnley’s James Trafford; another name linked to Newcastle.
Our interest in Mamardashvili is well documented, but Jacobs reports that Newcastle are one to ‘keep an eye on’ when it comes to Jorgensen – the 22-year-old who has enjoyed a breakthrough season over in Spain – and reveals that we’ve already spoken to the player’s agent.
It seems that Chelsea are taking a keen interest in Newcastle’s summer plans having also been recently linked to Tosin Adarabioyo, but hopefully for the Magpies they’ll come away empty handed.

Just how do Chelsea keep coming up with more money to spend within FFP. Yes they sell alot of young academy players but seriously? After spending a BILLION pounds on players last year surely their horse-trading ain’t gonna cover it.

You know this is pure speculation on the journalists part right?
All they know is what positions we need to strengthen ( and half the time they guess that as well) and then they just throw names at it, add in competition from a rival club to make it exciting and there you go they have a click bait story. They’ve already linked us with 5 keepers already and the window hasn’t even opened yet 😂

They do things like using a subsidiary company to sell their training ground to themselves for a grossly inflated fee, allegedly. They also sell their tat to PIF-owned Saudi clubs for above market value, which is something Newcastle aren’t allowed to do. I’m sure Boehly will find other loopholes that the Premier League will quickly close when he’s finished jumping through them.
