An intriguing photo has emerged from St James’ Park today, where Serbian talent Miodrag Pivas has been pictured ahead of a potential move to Newcastle United.
The 19-year-old was spotted by the club’s temporary club shop and the Benton training base this afternoon, with the 6ft 2′ teenager accompanied by our player’s liaison officer; suggesting he’s either being shown around his new club or having a tour of our facilities before deciding on a potential move.
Pivas has represented his country at U17 level and plays for Serbian side FK Jedinstvo Ub, where his contract is due to expire this summer. He played the majority of his games at centre-back during the 2023/24 season but can also operate as a holding midfielder.
Interestingly, he’s represented by the same agency that looks after Alexander Isak and has been talked up by fellow Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic, who has previously compared Pivas to former Man Utd star Nemanja Vidic.
It’s yet to be confirmed if he’s due to sign, but it seems quite telling that he was with a club official and being shown around today, suggesting he could be the latest teenage talent to arrive on Tyneside.
