There is some breaking news to share tonight as widespread reports reveal that Newcastle United have agreed a fee with Brighton over the sale of Yankuba Minteh.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein and Sky Sports’ Keith Downie have confirmed that Brighton have struck a £33m club-record deal with Newcastle to bring the Gambian to the South Coast.
Newcastle are reluctant sellers and will be disappointed to lose the exciting teenager before he’s even kicked a ball for the club, but we’ve got ourselves in a PSR mess and needed a significant sale before tomorrow’s deadline to stay within the rules, which explains late interest in Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.
Minteh now has permission to discuss personal terms with Brighton and Sky Sports report that he’s set to accept their proposal, with the 19-year-old winger eager to remain in the Premier League after returning from an impressive loan spell with Feyenoord.
Panic over, I guess, but it’s a sale that sums up all that is wrong with the Premier League’s PSR rules.

Is it the solution or part of the solution no one knows except the accountants.
At least we haven’t broken any rules on deals “done in good faith”which investigations may throw up.
They have been that frightened of Newcastle spending power since the takeover and have now clamped everyone, what a bunch of idiots the regulators are closing the stable doors after six horses have escaped.

Newcastle are not idiots when it comes to financial issue, yes we have potentely sold a good young player, but may have just defeated a concerted attack by the governing body to punish Newcastle simply to help the cartel of clubs( no need to say who they are) to prevent our top stars from being sold in a fire sale, and do you know what if, if Minteh turns out to be good enough Newcastle will buy him back in a couple of years.

Further to the previous contributors statement it’s not the first time that NEWCASTLE UNITED are in controversy as each season goes through its summer recess the stories are of fire sales also top players under threat of sales, since the time of the previous owner this was & now seems to be the normal.
Why can’t we become more business wise & more astutely organised it’s not rocket science & with the team of experts drawing executive pay scales then with the owners in tow they must proceed upwardly not having this endless scurried lifestyle.
We are Newcastle United supporters not down & outs get a grip & stop these scurrilous actions we keep what we have with a Not Fo Sale on the door.
