Simon Jordan nails it on Jim Ratcliffe after months of moaning from Man Utd chief
TalkSPORT's Simon Jordan has hit back at Jim Ratcliffe's suggestions that Newcastle were being "very difficult" over Dan Ashworth, insisting we were "well within their rights" to keep him on gardening leave.
Newcastle and Man Utd have finally reached an agreement over Ashworth's compensation fee, allowing him to start work at Old Trafford after his period of gardening leave came to an end on Monday.
However, Jordan has hit out at Ratcliffe's deluded demands over the past few months, with the INEOS chief taking several swipes at Newcastle in recent interviews - all because we wouldn't bow down to what he and Man Utd wanted. Watch what he's had to say below:

It's quite astounding how someone so successful in business can't seem to wrap his head around the idea of gardening leave and paying compensation for an important member of staff who was contracted to the club.
They've FINALLY paid up now and a compromise appears to have been reached, but Ashworth signed an agreement over the terms of any gardening leave, meaning the ball was never in Man Utd's court over his release - whether they liked it or not.
As Jordan rightly points out, Ratcliffe seems to be blinded by the supposed 'lure' of Man United and the nature of contracts in the world of football.
