According to Craig Hope at The Mail, Eddie Howe’s has a £5m buyout clause in his Newcastle United contract amid interest from England.
He reveals that the buyout was £8m this time last year after qualification for the UEFA Champions League, but that’s reduced to £5m after we failed to qualify for Europe ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Hope reports that the Newcastle boss is happy on Tyneside and currently focused on our pre-season plans after he and the squad jetted off to Germany for a training camp on Monday. However, he’d have a ‘decision to make’ if the FA were given permission to speak with him over the Three Lions job.
The Mail believe he will be the leading contender for the role should Gareth Southgate step down after Sunday’s defeat in the final of Euro 2024, but he’s not yet been contacted by the FA and is ‘said to be relaxed about the situation.’
It’s clear he has ambitions to manage England one day, previously describing it as the ‘ultimate ambition’ during his time at Bournemouth, but it may be a case of right job wrong time given his passion for day-to-day coaching at club football.
Hope also reveals that his wife and three sons have all relocated from the South Coast to Newcastle and are currently happy and settled in the area, which could also come into his thinking should a formal offer arrive from England.
Release clause made up by footballfancast or some other know nothing site and then reported by the daily fail.
Like these idiots know the ins and outs of Howes contract
Even Stevie wonder could see these half baked made up 💩 links coming the moment England lost, hell way before that tbh.

So what you’re saying is that Craig Hope knows as much about Howe’s contract as you do?

Worse, as much as you do.

It’s exciting to see a manager with clear ambitions and strong ties to his current club, as it reflects both dedication and a commitment to building something meaningful at Newcastle, while also leaving the door open for future opportunities with England.
