Kieran Trippier set for exit and three more could follow – The Telegraph

In his latest exclusive for The Telegraph today, Luke Edwards reports that Kieran Trippier looks set to leave Newcastle United this summer.

He reveals that player sales have been discussed and it’s looking ‘increasingly certain’ that the 33-year-old is moved on, with the England international receiving interest from a host of Saudi Pro League sides.

Trippier is out of contract in 12 months and had patches of poor form and injuries. He still has plenty to offer, but Newcastle may feel that now is the right time to sell with Tino Livramento ready to start at right-back?

Elsewhere, The Telegraph report that there’s lingering doubts about Sean Longstaff’s future, as the midfielder is another who will be out of contract next summer, as things stand.

Miguel Almiron is another player who could depart – he too has interest from Saudi Arabia – and there’s also uncertainty around Callum Wilson. He’s at risk of leaving on a free transfer next summer, yet a back issue has ruled him out of our pre-season schedule and could impact our ability to sell for a decent fee.

  1. Trippier claimed he left Spain for Newcastle for family reasons & it was never about money or anything like that. I wonder if his extra marital activities are for family reasons 🙄. Foolish boy.

  2. Sharpy let’s not be reduced to the type of moral highground people, nobody is perfect and none of us actually know what’s going on in trippiers life. Let’s not speculate, gossip and throw stones.

  4. Longstaff may not set the world alight but my god how we needed him last season.
We have more talented players(maybe) but for sheer consistency/availability and
the guts to play through the pain barrier when short of bodies he deserves more than
the dismissive comments some “supporters” level at him.

  5. I understand that Longstaff play through injury if other report are correct. There is a new season starting we shall se who plays maybe Longstaff may only play a bit part because Tonali will be back and if Eddie want to play 4 in midfield it depends on Eddie’s thinking.
