Remember Elias Sorensen? Well, the former Newcastle United striker hasn’t taken long to make an impression at Porsmouth following his summer move to Fratton Park.
After sealing a £400,000 move from Danish second-tier side Esbjerg following a 26-goal season in his home country, the 24-year-old has scored on his Championship debut for Pompey, equalising in their opening game of the 2024/25 season at Leeds.
At the time of writing, Portsmouth are drawing 2-2 at Elland Road and could call on another former Mag in Matt Ritchie, who is currently on the bench after signing on a free transfer earlier this week. Watch Sorensen’s goal below:

Sorensen scored 17 goals in 31 appearances for Newcastle’s U23s but never made a competitive appearance at senior level before leaving for Esbjerg in July 2021.
Elsewhere in the Championship today, Moussa Sissoko is back at Watford – who are currently away at Millwall – Karl Darlow is on the bench for Leeds and Jack Colback starts for QPR against West Brom.
On Tyneside, Newcastle United Women have gone into the break 2-1 down to AC Milan, with the Italians scoring twice in quick succession after Elysia Boddy’s stunning finish gave Wor Lasses an early lead.
