New signings Will Osula and Lloyd Kelly come in for their first Newcastle appearances at St James’ Park, with first-team stars Bruno Guimaraes, Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Joe Willock and Harvey Barnes also named in Howe’s starting line-up.

Sandro Tonali (ineligible) misses out once again, with other absentees (aside from those who played yesterday) including Callum Wilson (back), Lewis Miley (foot), Sven Botman (ACL), Jamaal Lascelles (ACL), Matt Targett (Achilles), Alex Murphy (hip), Joe White (back) and Garang Kuol (knee).

Newcastle XI in 4-0 win vs Girona Pope – Livramento, Krafth, Burn (c), Hall – J. Miley, Joelinton, Longstaff – Murphy, Isak, Gordon.
