According to The Athletic, Newcastle United have switched their attentions away from Chelsea’s Noni Madueke to pursue other options.
Newcastle have held an interest in the 22-year-old – we revealed earlier this month that a loan-to-buy deal had been explored – but he could end up staying at Stamford Bridge after scoring four over the past week.
His stunning hat-trick in Chelsea’s 6-2 win at Wolves on Sunday may have changed Enzo Maresca’s plans and it seems Newcastle are now looking elsewhere.
The Athletic reveal that we’ve watched Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga and have other targets in mind, both UK-based and overseas, but the arrival of a right-winger may depend on departures.
As things stand, it’s believed outgoings are needed to free up funds and space for another winger to sign permanently, whether that’s Miguel Almiron or someone else moving on over the final four days of the window. However, an ‘opportunistic loan signing’ could be looked at if a similar deal to Lewis Hall’s (last summer) emerges.
Eddie Howe is aware of Anthony Gordon’s ability to play down the right, offering Harvey Barnes the chance to play down the left after his impressive cameo on Sunday, but ideally wants another option to improve the right side of our attack.
Chiesa apparently available for £13 million, wages will be high of course.
Does Mitchell know? I suspect not.

Each one of Madueke’s goals was a small dagger to a Geordie heart while watching him play. One. Two. He couldn’t could he? Three.
The realization of a rumoured player who should have been scooped up four weeks ago?

This Mitchell fella has so far been as successful at his job as Richard Dinnis was when he was manager. Get yer finger out FFS.

A few on here were saying he wasn’t good enough

He probably knows he’s a left winger that can and has played a few on the right so not needed as we already have a couple of those that are pretty much on a par with him
Absolutely glorious(Quote)
Either Madueke or Mbueno would be fantastic but I suspect the £70 million we are going to fork out for Guehi means neither will be coming.

Chiesa has had horrible injuries an ACL plus 5 injuries in the season before and has not played much .. nor at a good level call an ambulance

Didn’t Howe in his presser when asked if we were going to sign a RW this week say “Probably not, no.”
So no need for the daily articles on rumours we’re about to sign one 😂

“nor at a good level”
A bit like Thiaw from Milan who everyone thinks we should buy ahead of Guehi, if you listed Milan forums when we were first linked with him the majority of them said they would drive him here personally 😂
He’s been pretty average since he went to Milan and the fact he hasn’t played in the prem league would mean the Eddie treatment of getting him ready so he probably would have got his first game around Xmas time.

Mitchell who !! , what a let down , you see every day what other clubs are doing NCLE is so stagnant it’s embarrassing, what has he done so far other than rack up first class airfares to achieve what ? .

Been here a matter of weeks yet people setting themselves about him 😂😂😂
Personally I’ll judge the guy in the Jan window but more so next summer’s window.
People need to calm down if we get Guehi we’ll have spent over 100m on players this summer that improve us. Except for the keeper we bought to do Forest a favour of course 😂

A lot of newcastle fans love to whine. I’m grateful for where we are today. If no players come in I’m sound with it. I’d rather we signed a cb and rw but as I said I’m still just grateful that we have a competitive team. Spreading whiny bile isn’t going to get any of us anywhere Mitchell this and eales that ffs. Just be quiet and support your club.
