Alexander Isak followed up his first goal of the season on Sunday with a brace for Sweden on Thursday night.
Competing in their League C (Group 1) clash against Azerbaijan in their opening game of the UEFA Nations League, the Newcastle striker scored in the 65th and 71st minute before winning a penalty that he gave to Viktor Gyokeres; a real act of class given Isak was on a hat-trick.
The game ended 3-1 and saw Sweden move top of their group, which also features Martin Dubravka’s Slovakia and Estonia. Watch both of his goals below, with the second a lovely dinked finish:

Speaking to the media about Newcastle’s form before the break, he said: “I think our performance is a bit short of the level we want to be at.
“I think we defend our goal very well. We almost refused to lose. With the ball, we are quite far from our level. But it is a statement of strength to win this match when everything is not so pretty.”
Bit odd he didn’t take the pen for his hat trick
