Eddie Howe considering three Newcastle changes at Wolves this weekend?

Kieran Trippier could return to Eddie Howe's XI for this Sunday's trip to Wolves, while Fabian Schar and Sandro Tonali are also pushing for starts.

The Athletic's Chris Waugh reports that 'there is a decent chance' Trippier starts at right-back after spending the international break on Tyneside preparing for this weekend's game, while Tino Livramento has been away on international duty.

Another player who could return to Howe's XI is Fabian Schar, who has also been back to work at the club's Benton training base after he, like Trippier, announced his retirement from international football last month.

Emil Krafth sat out Sweden's two Nations League games due to a 'minor injury', so it'll be interesting to see if he keeps his place at Molineux should he be fit to start. Schar is our first choice centre-back and is eligible to return after completing his three-game, but Krafth has performed superbly in his absence.

Last but certainly not least comes Sandro Tonali, who had to settle for a second half cameo in our 2-1 win over Spurs but has since shone for Italy over the break.

The Italian delivered a superb display in their 3-1 win over France last week, not only showing his class with a brilliant assist but displaying his pace, intensity and impressive fitness levels in an all-action performance on the left of a midfield three. Now he's back and clearly up to speed physically, there's justified calls to see him replace Sean Longstaff.
