Confirmed Newcastle team vs Brighton – Isak starts and Miley back in squad

The team sheets are in at St James’ Park, where Newcastle United take on Brighton in today’s 3pm kick-off.

Here’s the side Eddie Howe has gone with, featuring a few changes from our 0-0 draw at Everton last time out:

STARTING XI: Pope – Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall – Tonali, Bruno, Joelinton – Murphy, Isak, Gordon.

SUBS: Vlachodimos, Krafth, Kelly, Miley, Willock, Longstaff, Barnes, Almiron, Osula.

As expected, Alexander Isak returns to the side after recovering from a broken toe over the international break, with Tino Livramento replacing the injured Kieran Trippier at right-back.

Jacob Murphy keeps his place despite struggling at Everton two weeks ago, seeing Harvey Barnes drop to the bench.

Callum Wilson misses out once again, despite returning to training this week, but Lewis Miley is back on the bench following his recovery from a broken foot.

For Brighton, Yankuba Minteh is not in the squad, while former Mag James Milner and key man Joao Pedro are missing once again.

Howay the lads!
