The team sheets are in at St James’ Park ahead of Newcastle United’s 12.30pm kick-off at home to Arsenal. Here’s the side Eddie Howe has gone with to take on Mikel Arteta’s Gunners…
STARTING XI: Pope – Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall – Longstaff, Guimaraes, Willock – Gordon, Isak, Joelinton
SUBS: Dubravka, Tonali, Barnes, Krafth, Osula, Almiron, Kelly, A.Murphy, Miley.
Howe has made three changes from our 2-0 win over Chelsea in midweek, seeing Dan Burn, Tino Livramento and Bruno Guimaraes come in for Lloyd Kelly, Emil Krafth and Sandro Tonali.
Jacob Murphy misses out again with a hamstring issue. As expected, Callum Wilson misses out once again along with Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles.
Arsenal XI: Raya, Partey, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber, Merino, Rice, Saka, Martinelli, Trossard, Havertz.
Hopefully we can build on Wednesday’s win and produce another big performance at St James’ Park to kickstart our slow start to the league season. Howay the lads!
