An update has arrived on the future of Tyler Dibling, who appears to be one of the hottest Premier League prospects in 2025.

The Mail’s Craig Hope reported earlier this month that we were lining up a summer move for the 18-year-old, with Paul Mitchell eager to strike a deal with his former club.

However, reports today suggest we’re facing intense competition for the Southampton star and may need to act quickly or risk missing out on the exciting right-winger.

Newcastle face fresh competition for Dibling

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Newcastle target Tyler Dibling is now being targeted by RB Leipzig.

Chief reporter Florian Plettenberg reports that the Bundesliga side ‘want to sign’ the 18-year-old and have already made it known they’d be willing to pay £25m for his signature.

Southampton, however, are demanding ‘much more’ than this figure, partly due to the level of interest, particularly from clubs in the Premier League.

Newcastle’s interest is well documented, but it’s thought Spurs have also joined the race for Dibling, who is currently injured and expected to miss the next four to six weeks after picking up a knock in last week’s 3-1 defeat at Man Utd.

Dibling is contracted to Southampton until 2027, although recent reports claim he is yet to sign an improved deal on new terms following his breakthrough into the Saints first team.

Early move makes sense if sales are secured?

Dibling may be missing for the next month through injury, although it could make sense to bring forward our bid for the England U21 star.

We may have had a summer move in mind, but if the sale of Miguel Almiron frees up money to spend and rival bidders are looking to snap him up this month, this could be one we live to regret.

Like Gordon’s mid-season arrival a few years ago, it could be in our interests to act quickly for a massive young talent with limitless potential.
