The team sheets are in at St. Mary’s, where Newcastle United take on Southampton in today’s 3pm kick-off.
Newcastle are looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth, while Southampton come into the match bottom of the table with just six points rom their opening 22 games.
Here’s the side Eddie Howe has gone with this afternoon against a Saints team missing a few key players:
Confirmed line-ups
Newcastle XI: Dubravka, Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall, Tonali, Bruno, Joelinton, Murphy, Gordon, Isak.
SUBS: Pope, Trippier, Botman, Osula, Almiron, Kelly, Willock, Longstaff, Miley.
Southampton XI: McCarthy – Bree, Bednarek, Harwood-Bellis – Walker-Peters, Ugochukwu, Aribo, Manning – Fernandes, Armstrong; Onuachu.
Subs: Lumley, Wood, Sugawara, Bella-Kotchap, Downes, Smallbone, Lallana, Archer, Fraser
Howe has made one change, seeing Fabian Schar replace Sven Botman at centre-back.
Nick Pope returns to the bench after overcoming a knee issue that’s kept him out since early December, but Harvey Barnes, Callum Wilson and Jamaal Lascelles miss out again. Miguel Almiron is also in the squad, despite nearing a move to Atalanta United.
For Southampton, they are without Toon target Tyler Dibling and left-winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, with both missing out through injury. In their place comes former Mag Adam Armstrong.
Howay the lads!
Adam Armstrong’s movement will be a threat, hope Burn and Hall are on their toes.
Dubravka wasn’t up to his last few performances, hope it’s a one off.
In fact hope the last match was a one off, HWTL

I recently found this resource that provides useful insights for football fans, including how to remove Gamstop https://uk.notgamstop.com/gamstop-faq/how-to-cancel-gamstop/ for a better betting experience. With six of the next eight matches set for TV, supporters will have plenty of opportunities to cheer for their team. Hopefully, the squad delivers some thrilling performances on the big stage!
