Don’t prepare to let the celebrations of the Carabao Cup win dissipate just yet Geordies.
To a man Newcastle United Football Club left it all out on the Wembley pitch as Eddie Howe guided our club to a historic win in the capital on Sunday. Some fans stayed in the North East, and the plan to celebrate it with the players is beginning to transpire.
The scarf flinging, loud singing, Mags who cheered the Lads over the finish line in London have hopefully recaptured their voices ahead of the plan to continue appreciating the win in the Toon.
Toon set for Town Moor!
The Town Moor appears to be the plan for Saturday, March 29th as Newcastle show off their newly acquired piece of silverware, according to The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards and multiple other sources.
Talk of an open top bus parade has began to subside and all signs point in the direction of a different sort of occasion to partake in. An event situated in the mass green area north of the city centre seems to be taking precedence.
Newcastle will enjoy ending their 70-year domestic trophy no matter what is announced, squad, staff and fans alike, but the Hoppings will dwindle in comparison to the emotions felt during the celebrations on the Town Moor in 2025 if reports are accurate.
It seems this has been favoured over a bus parade once the squad return from a training camp in Dubai, with other international stars also expected back from representing their countries a week on Saturday.
Huge summer ahead – Potential targets revealed
Edwards has also reported the main targets that the Magpies are looking to recruit this summer with several Premier League players on the shortlist.
There are several positions within the Carabao Cup winning squad that are being targeted for improvement, the Telegraph reporter claiming we want to “strengthen in every department,” and citing many names familiar with Toon supporters.
Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford is a long standing target that appears to be a priority, while several options have been discussed in attack.
Tyler Dibling, Antoine Semenyo, Johan Bakayoko, Francisco Trincao, Justin Kluivert, Jonathan David, Benjamin Sesko, Morgan Gibbs-White and Hugo Ekitike are all being considered.
