Newcastle signing confirmed - First photos as £2m talent completes "dream" move

Alongside first-team recruitment that should finally arrive this summer, it's clear that Newcastle United are now committed to finding some of the best teenage talent from around the globe.

We've seen several youngsters arrive under Dan Ashworth and Paul Mitchell, with the latter previously signalling his intent to widen our scouting circles to sign and develop low-cost gems that can help combat against PSR.

Spanish winger Antonio Cordero is set to sign on a free transfer from Malaga and Georgian forward Vakhtang Salia will arrive on his 18th birthday in August, but there is another overseas addition that's now been made official.

Turkish talent confirms move

Baran Yildiz's move to Newcastle United has now been confirmed.

It was reported earlier this year that we'd agreed a deal with Super Lig side Gençlerbirliği, with a £2m fee and four-and-a-half year contract said to be in place.

Since then, the 18-year-old attacking midfielder has had a few visa-related issues to iron out, but with those now sorted he and his representatives have announced the transfer online

Alongside the signing photos posted on his Instagram page, Yildiz had this to say now the move is official:

‘I am very happy that I have stepped into the Premier League, the biggest league in the world, where I have been following my dream of for years, with a wonderful club with roots and traditions like Newcastle United.

‘I would like to thank my family, my teachers and my Manager, my brother Batu Kaplan, our lawyer Anil Dinger, my brother Riza Köklü who have contributed greatly to making this dream of mine come true.

‘This is a start and no one should doubt that I will work hard and represent my country and our flag the best way I can.’
