There is a mass, well-earned love for wor Bruno, and his latest interview proves once more that the love is reciprocated from the man who claims his sons to be Geordies.
Bruno insists future is in Newcastle's hands
Bruno Guimaraes expressed strong signs of being settled at Newcastle and assured fans he would only leave if it benefited the club.
The Brazilian has been linked with moves to Manchester City and Real Madrid in previous windows but, according to the man himself, it would take a lot to prise him away from the North East.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, the 27-year-old said:
“I’m very much at home and living a dream."“For me to leave, it must be something great for the club, not for me. I don’t worry about it – I trust the club and my agents. I’m so happy here and I want to stay.
Guardiola links played down
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has gone on the record as being a massive fan of our magnificent midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
Generally Pep conducts himself as a classy man and it would come as a shock if the ex-Barca and Bayern gaffer went behind our back to tap up Guimaraes, but his public admiration may have been an attempt to chance Bruno’s arm.
Bruno too oozes class, and has kept conversations with the City boss on a professional basis, it seems.
He added: “I’ve spoken with him [Pep Guardiola], but nothing about a potential move. He has said some nice things about my game, and I am very humbled by that because he is the best coach I’ve ever seen – I admire how he has impacted football.”
