New photos of Newcastle's rumoured home kit for 2025/26 - Adidas' poorest work yet?

After the immensely positive reception our three kits have had this season, anticipation is high for Adidas to deliver some more classics ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

With speculation rife over how our away and third kits will look, we may have gotten our first proper glimpse of the rumoured home kit for next season.

But unfortunately, the leaked snippets haven't gone down well with scores of the fanbase, and it's not hard to see why.

New images of the rumoured home kit

Higher-quality images have begun to circulate online of what our home kit will look like.

The new shirt matches previously reported details that the kit retains our iconic black and white stripes with a blue trim. But there's two new notable features present on the shirt that have caused the main source of concern over the design.

First, the new shirt not only lacks a traditional Adidas teamgeist collar, but the phrase 'Howay The Lads' replaces the Magpie that had featured behind the collar on this season's third kit.

Additionally, as seen below, the black and white stripes aren't entirely solid, depicting a more jagged and slightly faded pattern that what many would have been expecting.

The images themselves have reportedly come from a JD Sports outlet, which would hint that a full product release is imminent, and could even be seen before the end of this league campaign.

Initial feedback from fans

It's safe to say that the leaked kit has not gone down well with much of the online supporter base.

One X user bemoaned the lack of the teamgeist collar, saying "That is bad. But the one with the other collar is worse. Going in the complete wrong direction stylistically."

Another similarly remarked how it seemed like Adidas were regressing in quality: "Incredibly this - will be another grower if we have a good season. Doesn't scream Adidas elite category club as was reported ages ago."

One fan also had this to say on X: "Awful kit. The blue is too light, the stripes don't look nice and the howay the lads ruins the back." Another added, "doesn't scream Adidas elite category club as was reported ages ago", and we'd tend to agree!

Some may love it and hope that this will in fact be our home kit for the 2025/26 campaign, but the initial reaction on social media is largely negative from the comments we've read in response to today's leaks.
