Rafa Benitez has made no secret of his desire to strengthen the wide attacking positions and it’s emerged that Scott Sinclair is a possible target.
The Aston Villa winger was expected to sign for Celtic but he has let it be known he would prefer to stay in England. With Roberto Di Matteo, Villa’s new manager, looking to trim his squad, the former England international’s lack of commitment to the Midlanders cause is set to hasten his exit.
It’s understood that there is a £3m release clause in his contract but so far Celtic have failed to trigger that. If that is true, then we need to be in quickly and pay what is a relatively small sum. He’s a lively player who can chip in with his share of goals in the right setting.
With Ayoze Perez linked to a move back to Spain, is signing Sinclair too good an opportunity to miss?
